i had a managerial accounting test on friday. part is online and part is written. i missed 7 questions in the online portion. i'm pretty disappointed about that. i second-guessed myself on some of them. and of course the right answers were the first ones i had. after that i headed to target to get a wedding card and gift card for tomorrow. i decided since i sucked at my exam, i'd do some retail therapy. i found that a lot of cute things i'd seen before in the jewelry department that i'd liked were on sale!

out and about.
anyone who lives in ohio knows that last night sucked! we had a tornado watch until 5 am! the storm woke me up at like, 1.30. i didn't want to fall asleep because it's scary to think that a tornado could come and suck us up in the middle of the night and we'd never know. the power went out from 2.30 to 5 and i was pretty much up the whole time. good thing i dug out some candles! i always think of the scariest things in the dark at night!
today i woke up and took mollie for a walk, laid around, then got ready to go shopping with kelli! i really need to get layers put into my hair. i had a cute concave bob cut back in march. now it's grown out and it looks really stupid when it's straight. (i also put two blue streaks in my hair!)
the only thing i really needed to buy was a gift for a 3 year old's birthday that i'm going to on sunday. i got her a cute hello kitty top and a heart skirt at target! there are so many sweaters and fall-ish things i want to buy after our finances chill out. then we went to the mall and i ended up buying some camis from wet seal (i collect them, ha), grey leggings and a sweet striped, button up sweater vest. i love it.
now i'm home. i have to exchange the vest for an extra large. :( all YSU students have been waiting to hear if there is going to be a faculty strike. it was just announced that they are officially striking, effective tomorrow morning at 8 am. this really sucks. we're supposed to start school on monday! i don't even care about not getting my refund check, i don't need the money. i'm mad because i'm so excited for school to start again.
i believe we're watching the browns for the rest of the evening. i just want to rest because i'm working two doubles in a row. even sunday is going to be busy. we're going to melt, then the party, then the eastwood mall to visit forever 21!

the clouds were awesome today!
me and mollie found this praying mantis on our walk!
today was my first time trying caribou coffee. i got a mint condition with dark chocolate, it was pretty good!
i spent a good portion of the day drooling over corelle dinner sets.

MELT #4
well today was our fourth trip to Melt. we brought Jessie this time and met Kelli and Dave there! i was so excited for Jessie to try it and for the rest of us to get the Corny Beast. it's essentially a super-cheesy corn dog--stick and all! it comes with a chipotle ketchup which was really good. overall i really liked the sandwich. it was good. but i wasn't as in love with it as i thought i would be. it's not Melt's fault, i think i just built it up in my head and expected it to be more extravagant. but sometimes simple is good and in this case it was. i also got the Parmageddon to go! which i'll update on after i get out of my food coma.
Jessie had to go back to school because she had to work and the rest of us went to Beachwood and shopped at H&M and forever21. honestly, i wasn't impressed by H&M at all. i always see sweaters in outfit post and i thought their stuff would be really cute. but i only got two sweaters. everything looked like it was from the same five materials and were semi-trendy, middle-aged styles. i was thoroughly disappointed. but on the other hand i spent $107 at forever21. i could have spent more but there were so many people, it was crowded and the music was really loud, i couldn't concentrate on the items and i think i was over-stimulated. it was kind of stressful. i'm happy with my purchases regardless and it was a really fun day.
here's a peek at our day!
corny beast!
i love the random stuff written on the walls in the bathroom.
and this funny grammatical horrorfest.
i want this in my apartment.
and a few edited with instagram.
joe and my new shades.
i thought the clouds would look cooler than this.

ordinary tuesday?
so yesterday started out fairly normal. I was totally motivated to clean and do laundry and such. The clothes and necklaces that I ordered from forever21 finally came!!
For some reason I'm highly fascinated with
a) striped shirts
b) owls
c) sparrows
d) anchors
All but striped shirts have meaning associated with them. Owls are supposed to represent strength of mind, "wise-ness", and luck. Sparrows I like because I've always known them to be the "in memory of" bird. I really want one tattooed on my arm in memory of my sorority sister who died April 24, 2009. The cause of death was an enlarged heart, which was eerily fitting because she was the nicest, most loving person that I have ever had the privilage of knowing. Lastly, anchors represent strength and stability and longevity--3 things that are important to me because of my marriage.
Joe came home for lunch and left to go into a 3 hour long meeting. After, I tweeted that I wished I had the guts to go get a grilled cheese tattoo for our Melt outing on Sunday. For those of you who don't know, Melt is a restaurant in Cleveland that specializes in gourmet grilled cheese, which is freaking awesome because cheese is the best thing ever!! If you get a grilled cheese related tattoo, you get 25% off of your bill FOR LIFE! Now, I had never gotten a tattoo before because I was so afraid of the pain, although I do have my nose pierced and gauges...go figure. Kelli tweeted me back and said that we totally should and that she and Dave were down if I was. Of course I was! I just wanted to wait to discuss the money aspect with Joe. So we waited for him to get out of his meeting, which lasted till the end of his work day.
Well, long story short, Joe and I fought about it and he tricked me into not getting on my wrist like I wanted, which I am grateful for. But we got them!
I can't believe how much it didn't hurt anywhere near what I expected. You can agree that this is totally stupid and lame and I'll regret it later but
a) it's hidden
b) i just don't care. at all.
c) I've never done anything spontaneous or stupid with my friends before except for small stupid high school crap. I'd regret it if I DIDN'T do it.
So we ventured back to our apartment to watch the OSU game when Nick and Elise (our neighbors) wanted us to go to a nearby bar called Quench because Nick was leaving for two months. We did and it was the most fun I think any of us have had in a long time. It was such a ridiculous night. Nick always buys everyone's drinks and is generally awesome, and I saw Elise more drunk than I ever have.
Highlights of the night:
~Joe got me a free MacBook by buying a round of shots.
~Nick and Elise wanted to see Dave's thigh tat, so he pulled down his pants on the patio at Quench! baha, he later told Kelli that he thought Elise saw his weiner.
~Me and Kelli just being assholes in general.
~Wendy's totally screwing up our order. I got two spicy hot chicken nuggets in my regular nuggets.
~Dave immitating Mystical to a t and showing us how Wang orders.
~All of the sex jokes. ahem.
~Elise texting me saying that she was sleeping outside.
Such a great night with such great people. I didn't even mind waking up for work...kind of.
